The story goes on
In the middle of the XXth century, Sherbrooke’s downtown, cradle of the urban life, played a leading role in the socioeconomic development of the region.
The febrile of the businesses, the trades and the cultural activities strengthened its role,.In the center of the sherbrooke region, which, in the course of the years, has not stop evolving.
Buildings sheltering institutions such as the City hall, the Seminary of Sherbrooke, the School Our Lady, the Cathedral Saint Michel and the Theater Granada tell even today the beauty of downtown sherbrooke as in the beginning of the century .
In the beginning of the XXIth century, the downtown area still represents the heart of this regional metropolis place where daily thousands of residents, storekeepers, business people, workers, students and citizens give life to this outstanding environment.
Always centred on the business and the trades, the downtown area, in constant development, put on its patrimonial and cultural wealth in a modern living environment.
Robin Renaud Les's historic capsules
Historic capsules are an amiability of Mr. Robin Renaud of CHLT 630.
They carried through within the framework of a master's degree in history at the University of Sherbrooke. The research and the editorial staff of the scenarios made in collaboration with the Society of history of Sherbrooke and the diffusion of radio broadcasting was insured by stations CHLT 630 and QUOTED 102,7.
The comedians whom you hear in these capsules lent their voice voluntarily. Thank you to these last ones to have given life to the past of our city and to have contributed to make of this project a success.
